Larkin Poe had this to say about themselves:
We are sisters. We are music lovers. We are storytellers. Every since we were little girls, we’ve been awed by the power of a story well told: from children’s books and bedtime yarns to figments and fairytales. Before we were able to read, we hounded our parents for “more stories!” and then, when at last we could; we began hounding the bookshelves. Now, nearly a decade later, at 19 and 20, we’re still doing the same thing.

For my money they are the freshest slice of Americana I've heard in a long long while. They are another of the cool bands that will be at this years SXSW.
They recently finished a series of four EP's, one for each season. Check them out if you get a chance, they will keep you going until their album comes out later this year.

Seems like a long way to go, to Norway, to film in a classic American car. Cool! Play OnOfficial music video for the song "Play On", the single from Larkin Poe's first full-length studio album, Thick As Thieves, to be released Summer 2012.
