Sergey Doroshenko

As the day winds down maybe time to chill out with some new age music.
And here's someone I only just found, and Sergey Doroshenko is making beautiful sounds.
And the video ain't to shabby.

Sergey Doroshenko hails from Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
Kick back and enjoy the soothing sounds.

This World
Video of Sergey's work, "This World" was created by his friend Elena Varukova

This time just the sounds. Pretty amazing!!

Chordslinger n Lola

Now here's another band/duo that are new to me, Chordslinger n Lola.
ChordSlinger n Lola found each other on an internet music site called TheSixtyOne. They talked and both agreed that Lola's ambient voice and ChordSlinger's ambient style at that time were a good match. In November of 2009, they wrote their first song which was called "Stop This War". They quickly gained a following on the site and found the fan base growing. Lola developed a role as the vocalist who writes the harmonies, does some rearranging, and helps with lyrics. ChordSlinger became the song writer and instrumentalist, and singing on very rare occasions. They are part of a new breed of indie music that has been spawned by the internet. They send files across cyberspace to produce music. This is the wave of the future. Musicians can pick their musical partners from all over the globe and get good matches for their styles and this was a good one.
Now for me this ambient style is just right, I'm really digging this.
A beautiful female voice with some amazing guitar chops.
See what you think, check out some of their tunes.

Your Destiny
This Chordslinger n Lola song was inspired by the recent socioeconomic conflicts in Lola de Hanna's country, Greece, which are reflective of worldwide trends of corruption and inequality; affecting those who love their homelands making them face a difficult choice: stay and fall apart or leave and give up what they love...

Who We AreThis was Chordslinger n Lola's first video back in 2010 and beautiful it is.

Not much of a video, but still that beautiful voice.
Look at Me

Again the video is sparse, but almost conjures up Santana meets Dolores O'Riordan, amazing song.

Sisaret

Sisaret spun off from the Alternative/Indie band Vivian founded in 2005; when founding members Jeff Brooks, Brandi Alexander and Gareth Friedlander joined forces in January, 2011 with April Tiger, a Roots/Blues singer/songwriter and close friend.
Sisaret is a power quartet ...each of it's members is a songwriting force in their own right. Their music is a melding of diverse influences to a single stream of ideas, both collective and, at times, contrary.
Sisaret hails from Long Beach, California and they are:
Brandi Alexander - Vocals
Jeff Brooks - Guitars
April Tiger - Bass
Gareth Friedlander - Drums

And they are a kick ass rockin' blues band.
Give 'em a listen.
Something very timely, the current single, and we are all political today.

Now check out some of their live gigs.

Toni Collette

I've been a fan of Toni Collette since Muriels Wedding in that wonderful town of Porpoise Spit, Australia. Through the United States of Tara, and all stops along the way, and beyond to be anxiously awaiting her next great chapter in "Hitchcock".

But who knew the girl could sing? Color me impressed.
I recently discovered her album "Beautiful Awkward Pictures" as part of The Finish.
Check out some of her music with her band The Finish.

And then they did this great cover

I guess maybe she did sing back in Porpoise Spit, I had almost forgotten that.

Lisa Marie Presley

Lisa Marie Presley has her new album released today, Storm & Grace.
I have one of her earlier albums, To Whom It May Concern, from 2003.
And while it was not terrible it was nothing spectacular.
But give a young lady a few years in England to calm down and write in peace, then call in T Bone Burnett and what you get is a damn good album.
I'm thinking it will be on my player for a while to come.
Dark and broody is the sound, and it is much more accessible into Lisa Marie's cool voice.
Check it out, you'll enjoy it.
