Ren Harvieu

Meet a Lancashire girl whose voice and sound will stop you dead in your tracks. Her name is Ren Harvieu. Her hair is heavy and shaggy, her eyes lined with kohl, her manner as down-to-earth as the streets of Broughton in Salford, which is where she was born, just over twenty-one years ago.
Schooled in dusty youth club contests rather than star-spangled pop schools, she has had quite a life already; she’s also had quite a year. A terrifying accident nearly ended everything for her this summer, but now, only four months after she thought she would never walk again, she is walking back to us.

Ren has to be the owner of the most beautiful voice to emerge from the UK in the last few years.

See if you don't agree with me. First up her recent single, gorgeous.
Open Up Your Arms

One of her earlier singles.
Through the NightLive for BBC Introducing

Now an amazing duet with an old favorite from here.
The Train SongThis is a great duet, from her new album, with the amazing Karen Elson

This is a totally beautiful amazing Roy Orbison cover.
Crying

And just to prove nobodies safe, here she just kills a Rolling Stones track.
Sister Morphine

This is the complete song without the interview or any video as such. But this was always my favorite track on the "Sticky Soul Fingers" tribute album.

Even though I've never been a big Beatles fan, this one is worth listening to,
Something

Personally I can't wait for the new album to drop.

With gratitude for Women Out Front for pointing me in the right direction.
