Eurovision Song Contest 2012 - The Winner

I don't think I've done too many posts on the Eurovision Contest, probably because it's been 30 years since I've seen one. I have probably mentioned it in passing because a featured artist had been in the contest at some time. Such as Abba.
But this year I think we have a winner before the song is even chosen for sure in the home competition. Sweden has not won since 1999, but this year could be their fifth win, assuming of course they make sure that this song is the winner of their home competition Melodifestivalen 2012 which will happen on Saturday (March 10, 2012).
The person they have to choose is Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui, better known by her stage name Loreen, born 16 October 1983. She is a Swedish singer and music producer, of Moroccan-Berber descent.

And her song Euphoria is simply amazing.

On the other hand Russia has only won once, in 2008, but are unlikely to repeat this year with their six grannies entry.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will be the 57th annual Eurovision Song Contest. It will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, following Azerbaijan's win in the 2011 Contest with Eldar & Nigar's song "Running Scared". The two semi-finals will be held on 22 May and 24 May 2012, and the final on 26 May 2012. Ten countries from each semi-final will qualify for the final and will be joined by Azerbaijan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. Forty-two countries have announced their participation in the contest, with Montenegro returning, having last taken part in 2009, with Poland and Armenia withdrawing.
