Solace and Fury

Who is that beautiful lady you ask?  She is the amazing Amber Tisue.
Oh Boy, was this ever a find. I am so happy I saw this review.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, Solace and Fury is the musical endeavor of lead singer, songwriter, arranger and producer Amber Tisue. She composes music drenched with sultry vocals entwined among soothing cello lines and dark rhythms. Her music is heart-wrenching, warm, melancholy, reflective, but most of all- moving. Solace and Fury integrates acoustic instruments with electronic loops and environmental sound effects. The goal is to create a world within each song, and Amber’s B.A. in Music Recording and Sound Design only contribute to their cerebral yet accessible sound. Amber began writing songs at the age of 13 on her mother’s guitar, and was raised on such artists as Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt. Her personal musical influences cross various genres, from folk, to electronica and world music. She has been compared to artists such as Florence and the Machine, Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Cat Power, Ani Difranco, Portisehead, and Tori Amos.
And of course I was intrigued, I just had to hear what they were writing about. I'm so happy I saw it, this is one amazing album from an amazing band.
