The Roots of Trash and Garage

I just ran across this album which was released earlier in the year. Great stuff.
Here's a description I found on the web, that just about nails the concept.

Although there are bands and artists from numerous genres that can be said to fall under the banners of trash and garage, it is generally accepted that these musical monikers can include just about everything and anything that inspired the 76/77 punk and new wave movement -from the Kingsmen and the aptly named Trashmen, through the Stones, Kinks and Who and onto the Sonics, Thirteen Floor Elevators, Alice Cooper, New York Dolls, Stooges plus a thousand less popular acts. But the roots of Trash and Garage themselves are a whole lot harder to define.

This compilation, the first of its kind, goes some way in providing clues to the impulses that brought about these most riveting and dynamic musical styles. From the rough blues of Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and T. Bone Walker, through R'n'B masters such as Johnny Guitar Watson, Bo Diddley and Barrett Strong and with selections from classic Rock n Roll, Surf, Girl Groups, the earliest British Beat and many one-off gems.

There is just so much great stuff on here, so here's the track listing with some of my preferred tracks. See what you think.
