Monika Borzym

Some great jazz sounds for today, courtesy Monika Borzym.
Armed with an arsenal of ferocious contemporary cover songs by women singers, and supported by some of the most respected musicians, and one hot producer, in the business, 21-year old Polish born chanteuse Monika Borzym is declaring herself a new voice in modern jazz. The world is only waiting to concur.

Monika Borzym discovered jazz at an early age, and is a natural musician, but her upbringing could have sent her in many different directions, thankfully she took a more studied path. “My dad listens to new romantic stuff, Tears For Fears, Toto, there was never Miles Davis playing in my house. My mum listened to Cleine Dion, and Whitney Houston mostly, I sang along at elementary school, luckily they never pushed me to do Idol like stuff.”

I for one do concur that she is the new voice in modern jazz. And what a voice, what an album.

Thank You

Monika Borzym performing her cover of Dido's famous hit "Thank You" on Los Angeles Music Academy final showcase. Don't know about the audience member who must have been sitting on something strange.

A very nice song, with no annoying audience to put up with.
