Ólöf Arnalds

Back in 2010 I first stumbled across Ólöf Arnalds, and I thought it was time for a re-visit.  In the meantime Ólöf Arnalds had come up with her amazing song Surrender, featuring Björk.
Ólöf Arnalds is an Icelandic singer and multi-instrumentalist. Classically educated on the violin and self-taught on viola, guitar and charango, Ólöf's most distinctive asset is, nonetheless, her voice.

So kick back and revel in the ethereal sound of Ólöf Arnalds.

Complete with trippy video. Wow!
Surrender

The classic Bob Dylan song covered by The Byrds newly improved by the Arnalds'.

Mr. Tambourine ManÓlöf & Klara Arnalds perform "Mr. Tambourine Man" live from the KEX Hostel in Reykjavik during Iceland Airwaves '11.
Recorded 10/11/2011
Sound: Jamie Alls, Chris Kellogg, Matt Ogaz & Kevin Suggs
Cameras: Jim Beckmann, Shelly Corbett & Scott Holpainen

And here we go, happy day, another NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert and a true chance to listen to her achingly beautiful voice. The Icelandic singer usually warbles her folk-flavored tunes in her native Nordic tongue. But her new record, Innundir Skinni, is her first to include songs sung in English. Watch Arnalds perform a lovely Tiny Desk Concert from the NPR Music office.
Set List:
"Innundir Skinni"
"Surrender"
"Crazy Car"

Finally today a beautiful cover of a Neil Diamond classic, I can't help thinking that Neil would approve.
