We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves is the name of the album.
John Maus (born February 23, 1980) is an American composer. He grew up in Austin, Minnesota, and studied music at the California Institute of the Arts. He later went on to study philosophy at the European Graduate School, in Saas Fee Switzerland, and in 2011 is working towards a PhD in political philosophy. He has said that as a college student he was interested in experimental music and performance art involving music, such as the work of John Cage. This shifted though, when he met and began to work with and alongside Ariel Pink, and took a greater interest in pop music.

Created using a mixture of rare vintage video equipment and experimental techniques the new video for Believer takes us deep into the often blurry yet always determined world of John Maus.

'Head for the Country' is from John Maus' new album, We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves out on Ribbon Music (North America) and Upset the Rhythm (Europe).
After traversing frozen landscapes and catching up on one of cinemas most complicated characters, John Maus finds that greater something and beams its mojo through the vastness of time and space from a giant satellite dish in his hometown of Austin, Minnesota. Blast off!
