David Wax Museum

David Wax Museum, "one of Boston's hottest new bands" (The Boston Globe), fuses exuberant Mexican roots music with homegrown country, folk and rock to create a unique Mexo-Americana sound. With Latin rhythms, call-and-response hollering, accordion pumping and donkey jawbone rattling, they have won over audiences across the country.

Does that make this music BosMex? Or is it just Boss Mex? Whatever you want to call it, I'm digging it.

David Wax Museum are David Wax, Suz Slezak & Gilberto YellowHorse Jackson. And their sound is Mexo-Americana, although I still like BosMex (kinda has that TexMex feeling).

Born With A Broken Heart

I just love this song, the intricate clarinet work is fun. Not because Beatrice was my mothers name, not that she would admit to it.
Oh Beatrice

Finally today a mini concert courtesy of the NPR. Dang what would we do without the NPR?

Following a frenetic and enjoyable set at the Newport Folk Festival, David Wax Museum brings its infectious blend of American and Mexican folk music to the NPR Music offices. Watch the band perform with a Mexican jarocha guitar and percussive donkey jawbone.

Set List:
"Yes, Maria, Yes"
"Let Me Rest"
"Unfruitful"
