Today we feature a Finnish Quartet called Kardemimmit. They consist of Maija Pokela, Jutta Rahmel, Anna Wegelius, and Leeni Wegelius and they hail from Espoo, Finland. With a truly sweet sound, this is another group where I have no clue as to what they are singing, but they sound great doing it. I'll let them introduce themselves.
We are Kardemimmit, a folk music band from Espoo, Finland. Our band consists of four girls; Maija (21), Jutta (20), Anna (22) and Leeni (22). All four play 15- and 38-stringed kantele (which is the national instrument of Finland) and sing as well (or nearly as well). We have played together so many years that we don't remember anymore how many. Kardemimmit plays mostly new kantele music but all our music is based on Finnish tradition, both Eastern and Western.

I have to thank Agnieszka Holm (Catself) for introducing me to this wonderful group of young ladies.
